What to Wear Wednesday: The Patterned Pant

The weather has turned warm, but what to do when a skirt or dress doesn’t feel comfortable? You long for something fresh to wear to work that maintains your professionalism yet signals, without a doubt, that you’ve switched from those dreary grey wool suit pants to something more…lively! But HOW? I’ve got two words for you: CROPPED & PATTERNED.

A well-tailored cropped pant in a colour or rich pattern is a great way to ‘work the system’ and still come out on top of the image game at work. Why? The silhouette is conservative – it is a dress pant, not a legging – yet the addition of a colour or pattern and the subtraction of a little length create a modern, almost edgy twist on a classic cut.

The best part? These fun bottoms can be worn straight into Fall with a few key changes to their ‘supporting pieces’.

Step away from ye ole ‘boyfriend’ chinos. This is the way to wear cropped to work.
